Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps taken by Storage Wapping to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. Storage Wapping recognises that modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our dealings.
This statement relates to the financial year ending 31 December and will be reviewed and updated annually to reflect our continuing efforts to combat modern slavery.
Our Organisation and Supply Chain
Storage Wapping operates storage and related services, working with a range of suppliers that provide goods, equipment, maintenance, facilities services, and professional support. Our supply chain includes both UK-based and international partners, and we understand that certain sectors and regions may carry a higher risk of labour exploitation.
We aim to build long-term, transparent relationships with suppliers who share our commitment to respecting human rights and promoting safe, fair, and lawful working conditions.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Storage Wapping has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, servitude, and any form of exploitation or coercion. We will not knowingly work with any organisation or individual that engages in or condones such practices.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this zero-tolerance stance. Any breach of our approach may result in the termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and other appropriate actions.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We conduct proportionate due diligence on our suppliers to identify, assess, and manage potential modern slavery risks in our supply chain. This process may include pre-qualification checks, supplier questionnaires, and a review of policies and practices relating to labour standards and ethical conduct.
Storage Wapping reserves the right to carry out audits or assessments of suppliers, either directly or through independent third parties, to verify compliance with our standards. These audits may include site visits, worker interviews, and document reviews. Where non-compliance is identified, we will seek corrective action plans and monitor progress. In cases of serious or repeated breaches, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Policies, Training, and Responsibilities
Our modern slavery commitments are supported by internal policies that address ethical conduct, labour standards, recruitment, and whistleblowing. These policies are communicated to employees and relevant third parties to ensure our expectations are clearly understood.
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the senior management of Storage Wapping, who ensure that appropriate resources and attention are dedicated to this issue. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement and supplier management, receive guidance to help them recognise risks and respond appropriately.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Wapping encourages anyone with concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chains to report them without delay. Concerns may be raised through internal channels, including line managers or other designated management contacts, or through our whistleblowing arrangements.
We take all reports seriously and will investigate them promptly and sensitively. We are committed to ensuring that no one who raises a concern in good faith suffers any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up.
Monitoring, Performance, and Annual Review
We are committed to continuous improvement in our efforts to prevent modern slavery. Storage Wapping monitors the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence, and supplier engagement by reviewing identified risks, audit findings, and reports raised through our channels.
This statement, together with our internal measures, is reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure it remains appropriate, effective, and aligned with evolving best practice and legal requirements. Where areas for improvement are identified, we will update our processes, provide additional training, or take further action as needed.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Storage Wapping and reflects our ongoing commitment to operating our business ethically and responsibly.
